The lifeguard on duty at Houghton's Pond in Milton didn't have his mouthpiece to protect himself so he refused to do mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a three-year-old boy.
Fortunately, there were bystanders who were CPR certified and they didn't have any qualms about germs. They saved the young boy's life.

Posted by: John at August 7, 2006 1:24 PMTHIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME LIFEGUARDS IN MILTON ARE NEGLEGANT IN THEIR DUTIES. IN JULY OF 1999, MY BABY SISTER DROWNED THERE (HOUGHTON'S POND). THERE WERE 9 LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY. SHE WAS UNDER THE WATER FOR ALMOST 20 MINUTES-NOT ONE OF THEM SAW HER. SHE DIED SHORTLY AFTER, ONE WEEK BEFORE HER 8TH BIRTHDAY. WE MISS HER TERRIBLY!!! DON'T DEPEND ON LIFEGUARDS-TAKE YOUR KIDS' LIFE INTO YOUR OWN HANDS, KEEP THEM CLOSE. -GLAD TO READ SOMEBODY SAVED THAT LITTLE BOY.
DON'T HESITATE TO GIVE CPR. SAVE A LIFE.
