Martha Stewart gives us 100 Reasons To Get Rid of It.
We have too much stuff
Because it's fun
Because Someone else needs it
It can be turned into something else
It will make your life better
You can get something back.
Because it's old/expired
Or Just Because
Yay! I love this advice. I was a person who hung onto stuff and then I read a few books on feng shui and decluttering. Now I love throwing things out!
Posted by: Rhea at April 25, 2007 1:07 PMEvery year between New Year's and mid-April I get empty cardboard boxes and begin clearing out clutter from our three-floor home in Maine. In April I hunt around until I find a charitable community organization that will accept the whole load unopened. (All boxes are neatly packed and taped shut so there will be no peeking nor backsliding.) When this project is over each year, I treat my life partner and myself to a nice lunch at the same restaurant that gave us all the free boxes. What a relief to be able to stop caretaking all that stuff! From Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. I am 64. Good Luck to all of you who are working to get free of all your unneeded things, especially the caretaking of them. Thanks for reading my post!
